Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

Narcotics Anonymous now meets in Gurdon at the Presbyterian Church on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 353-6612.

Moms-In Touch prayer group for schools meets at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays at First Baptist Church. Call 887-6376 for additional information.

A gospel meeting will be held at the Hope Church of Christ with John Cannon Jr. as speaker beginning April 5 and going through April 8. The theme is Christianity in the 21st Century. There will also be luncheon day services from 11:45 to 12:45.

The Chidester Post Office will have a dedication of its new facility Sunday, April 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Door prizes will also be given. The postmaster is Carolyn Holleman of Oak Grove. Chidester Mayor Bobby Box will have a brief message at 3:00.

Midway Cemetery Perpetual Care Association will have its annual meeting Tuesday evening, April 7, at 7:00 in the Midway United Methodist Church. All members and those interested in the cemetery are encourage to attend.

Emmet School board will have its regular monthly meeting Monday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in room 4.

The agenda will include elementary and high school principals' reports, superintendent's report, adopt high school language-arts textbooks, consider school calendar and personnel matters.

Laneburg Volunteer Fire Department political rally and cake auction will be held April 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Laneburg Fire Department, two miles south of Laneburg on Highway 371. The speakers will have five minutes speaking time.

Union Cemetery Association will meet Saturday night, April 4, at 7 in the Union Baptist Church fellowship hall. Persons interested in bidding or upkeep of cemetery, call 870-899-2443 for information.

All interested persons are urged to attend.

Kelsey Glass is proud to announce the arrival of her baby brother, Sherman Robert Keith Glass. He arrived at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia March 19, 1998, at 2:31 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds 8 + ounces and was 20 inches long.

Parents are Russell and Tammy Glass of Prescott. Grandparents are Joyce and Tommy Hicks of Bodcaw, and Bob and Denver Glass of Magnolia. Great grandparents are Loyce Thompson of Prescott, Nora and Walter Nichols of Bodcaw, Donita Daniels of Hope and great grandfather Roy Rayborn of Magnolia.

Holy week revival will be held at Midway, Mount Moriah, Harmony United Methodist Churches April 5-7, at 6:30 p.m. with Jerry Westmoreland as the evangelist.

On Sunday, April 5, at Midway enjoy lots of old-time hymns; Monday, April 6 at Mt. Moriah special music by Carolyn Tye and Third Generation; Tuesday, April 7, at Harmony special music by Velora Bright Haltom and Good Life Singers. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy these services.

The Bluff City Church of Christ will have a gospel meeting April 5-8. Times of services will be 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

The speaker for each service will be Bro. Roger Cox from Nashville. The song director will be Bro. Stacy Hilderbrand from Arkadelphia.

Everyone is invited to attend.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioner Lester Sitzes will be at the Southwest Regional Game and Fish Office from 7 to 10 p.m., Friday, April 10. This office is located in Perrytown. He will also be at the Herman Dierks Community Building in De Queen from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 11.

Everyone is invited to go by to visit with Sitzes about the Arkansas outdoors, upcoming hunting regulations and any other areas of interest.

April is Celebrate Literacy Month. On April 3 at 7 p.m. there will be an adult team spelling bee, sponsored by the SWADC literacy volunteers. Contact Teri Hughes at 887-5536 for more information, or 1-800-264-7323.

National Day of Prayer will be at the courthouse from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on May 7. Local pastors and leaders will be offering prayer. Entertainment will be local music. For more information, call Beth Ward at 887-6376.

Crossroads Assembly of God Church between Prescott and Delight will present the Calvary Stampede April 5-8. Sunday, April 5, the Stampede will begin at 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, the program will begin at 7:00 p.m.
