Military NewsPublished Wednesday, April 1, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneWilliam R. Van Scoy has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force to the rank of Major. Van Scoy is an outpatient psychiatry chief with the 59th Medical Wing at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of William R. and Mary B. Van Scoy of 249 Rosston Road in Prescott. The major graduated in 1983 from Prescott High School and received a bachelor's degree in 1987 from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
