Malone To Aid Girls State

State Rep. Percy Malone of Arkadelphia will serve as a member of legislative delegation assisting in the 1998 Arkansas Girls State government education program, House Speaker Bobby L. Hogue of Jonesboro has announced.

Arkansas Girls State is a week-long program involving hundreds of high school seniors and sponsored by the Arkansas American Legion Auxiliary.

Most of the program will be held May 31 through June 5 on the campus of Harding University in Searcy.

Delegates also will travel to Little Rock to meet with government officials and hold mock legislative proceedings in the chamber of the house and senate.

Rep. Sue Madison of Fayetteville and Rep. Randy Laverty of Jasper will serve as chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the house delegation assisting Girls State.
