UFO Seen Over Gurdon

A glowing object has been sighted in the skies over Gurdon recently.

Calls to the Gurdon Times have been flooding in, with the callers asking what's going on, and what the object is or could be.

Residents of Gurdon and South Clark County have also been showing signs of being affected by the object through their behavior.

The orb, as some are calling it, has emitted rays. Once a person has been struck by these rays, they begin cleaning things. Most notably, they start washing vehicles, with some observed digging in the dirt for no apparent reason.

Gurdon Mayor Rick Smith had no explanation for the events, but has been pleased as several homeowners have began clearing their property of debris and others have been observed tending to their lawns.

"Whatever this is," Smith said, "I'm glad it hit. With all this cleanup going on, Gurdon will be a showplace for visitors this summer."

Still with no explanation as to what the unidentified flying object is, the Arkadelphia airport was called to see if it has shown on radar. Air traffic controller Goneb Lind, said nothing has been reported on the radar at the airport other than normal air traffic. No unusual objects have been spotted.

Dr. S.T. Orm, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Little Rock, also said nothing has shown up on the weather service radar within a 250 mile radius.

"While we've seen nothing on our radar," Dr. Orm said, "we have noticed unusual atmospheric disturbances in the area in question. It seems the mean temperature has increased for some reason we can't explain. However, we are looking into the situation."

A similar response was received from the NWS office in Shreveport, La.

Maj. Gen. Ivory Snow , adjunct with the Little Rock Air Force Base, denied any type of unusual activity in the skies above Gurdon. He said there has been nothing out of the ordinary occurring in the Gurdon area.

"We have no military aircraft in the region and have no reason to send aircraft to that area," he said.

"The people of Gurdon are seeing nothing more than swamp gas or ball lightning. There are no Unidentified Flying Objects there, never have been and never will be. UFOs do not exist. There is no proof of intelligent life existing in this universe."

Brigadier Gen. Cliff Rock, with the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. echoed Gen. Snow's comments.

Gen. Rock, through a faxed message from the DoD, stated the U.S. military no longer investigates UFO activity as Project Blue Book proved without a doubt UFOs do not exist.

Still the object is being reported in the Gurdon skies, the environmental changes continue as does the strange activity by residents.

Calls to the White House got an unusual response, though. When finally reached, Pres. Bill Clinton denied ever having met any female from another planet or having had an intimate encounter with one either.

Further questions, he said, would have to be directed to his battery of lawyers.

No mention was made by the President as to what the object could be.

Dr. I.M. Dingy, research specialist with the Mutual UFO Network, also known as MUFON, said this looks like a classic Close Encounter of the First Kind. Close Encounters of the First Kind, according to UFO information, are sightings of unidentified aircraft.

Dr. Dingy will also be probing into the changes in behavior and the environment, seeing if there is a link to the orb or not.

"I believe," he said, "Gurdon is being used as a test site by EBEs (extraterrestrial biological entities). What we don't know is why or for what purpose.

"But I think this could be advanced testing by aliens much like the cattle mutilations in the southwest part of the U.S.

Some area residents are making the most of the UFO's apparently benevolent testing by planning and holding ET (extraterrestrial) parties and building landing sites for the alleged visitors from another planet.

Dr. A.P. Rilfools, professor of UFOlogy at the University of Florida in Gulf Breeze, agreed with Dr. Dingy, stating this is a classic visitation.

Dr. Rilfools said area residents should be on the lookout for mutilated cattle and evidence of missing time. Men in black suits could also be seen, he said

There have been some people in the area complaining of missing time. They say they wake up in strange places with no memory of how they got there. However, these reports usually occur after a UFO party has been held.

Spiritualists, who wish to remain anonymous to protect their otherwise stellar reputation, have contacted the ghosts of Edgar Cayce and Jeanne Dixon, two noted psychics of their times.

According to the spiritualists, the spirits of both Cayce and Dixon predict the EBEs are friendly and have no malevolent intentions toward the people of Gurdon.

They said this region was selected millennia ago before being inhabited by mankind. The Gurdon Light, Cayce and Dixon said, is a beacon telling the aliens where they should land.

The spiritualists also said this visitation was predicted by the great Nostradamus, who was said to have predicted the sinking of the Titanic, the development of the atomic bomb and the invention of bubble gum.

Sources close to the U.S. Army, whose identity must remain confidential because of their rank, said the military machine is preparing to move its pulse weapons from New Mexico to Gurdon in case the aliens in the object become hostile.

Officially, though, the government denies any knowledge of pulse weaponry, saying this technology doesn't currently exist.

Dr. Ben Stone, MD, DMV, SOB (scholar of being), said Gurdon residents have nothing physical to fear from the effects of the object.

"So far, from the research I've done," Dr. Stone said, "the effects are completely positive and beneficial. People are outside being active and getting much needed exercise.

"This object," he continued, "also seems to be providing those who are struck by its rays with vitamin D an essential vitamin for the human body."

As a scholar of being, Dr. Stone said the orb is providing a positive psychological aspect as well. People in the area are being friendlier to one another and offering to help each other with whatever they're doing outside.

"Whatever it is," he said, "we need more of it all over the world."

One obvious crackpot said nothing unusual is going on and the object in the sky is not a UFO. He said all people are seeing is the sun after a long depressing winter, with Spring being the reason for the unusual activity.

The object has been described as being large, yellow and glowing, moving from east to west in the sky.

The rays are said to be warm and soothing, and radiate from the orb. It has been noted if a person remains
