The pastor and members of the Church of God on Carrie Street in Gurdon will present its Easter service Sunday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Andre Watson of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock. Everyone is invited to attend.

There will be a Easter program at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon April 12 during the 11:00 worship service. Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor.

There will be a Sunrise service at Muldrew Chapel C.M.E. Church in Gurdon Sunday, April 12, at 5:45 a.m. It will conclude with candle light conmusion. Everyone and all churches are welcome to join in this special occasion. Rev. Ronald Scott, pastor.

The officers and members of the Church of God in Christ of Gurdon will celebrate Elder and Sis. Paul Williams pastor's anniversary beginning Saturday, April 11, at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Eld. Paul Williams, pastor.

Frizell Shells, formerly of Burtsell community, passed away Friday in Seattle, Wash. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this report. He has a son, Fred Shells, of Little Rock and a daughter, Sheila Shells, of Washington, D.C., and three grandchildren.

Rev. and Mrs. Bennie Welch of Osceola visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Welch, sister Lois and Al Williams and daughter and other relatives and friends of Gurdon, Okolona, Burtsell and Hot Springs. They also attended Sunday school at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon.

Mrs. Lavern LaMack of Los Angeles is here visiting her mother, Mrs. Maud Brown, and Mrs. A.B. Brown of the Smithton community. She also attended her former church Sunday, New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and her sister, Mrs. Asenna Tucker, of Antoine and other relatives and friends.
