Prescott's Diamond Wolves remain undefeated as they posted three more wins last week.

The Wolves dispatched the Nevada Blue Jays 10-0 on March 30, opened April with a 12-9 win over Hope Wednesday, April 1, and demolished Fountain Lake 14-6 April 2 to open 7AA action.

Al Formby went to 5-0 on the season as he was on the hill for three frames against the Jays.

In his brief stint he gave up two hits, fanned seven and faced 12.

Ricky Hammrick finished the game, called after five because of the 10-run rule. Hammrick faced seven, fanned three and gave nothing else up.

Neither team was able to mount an offensive attack in the first two frames, but the Wolves unleashed a seven-run barrage in the top of the third.

Ben Jones got the track meet started by walking. Heath Ingram followed by driving Jones in as he singled.

Al Johnston walked and Jarrod Yates was hit by a pitch to load the bases. An error allowed Justin Jernigan to reach first, and brought Ingram and Johnston in.

Tony Overton then grounded out, but Brent Jordan connected on a two-bagger to score Yates and Jernigan.

Out two came when Formby grounded out, but Hammrick followed by walking and Jones single. This scored Jordan and Hammrick. Ingram walked in his second at-bat of the inning, but was left stranded with Jones when Johnston flied out.

Still, the Wolves held a commanding 7-0 lead.

The Jays went down in order, with Gentry and Evans getting fanned.

Prescott finished its scoring in the top of the fourth, which began with Yates belting a double. Jernigan doubled, moving Yates to third and putting Nevada in a world of hurt.

Overton's ground out brought Yates in. Brent Wicker walked ahead of a Formby two-RBI double, bringing both Jernigan and Wicker home to make the score 10-0.

Hammrick walked and Jones singled. Formby was nailed at the plate as he tried to score on the one-bagger. Ingram ended the inning by going down on strikes.

The Jays managed to get a runner on by way of error, but left him stranded.

The Wolves threatened in the top of the fifth, but were unable to bring the runner at second in.

Prescott's pitching kept Nevada at bay in the final frame.

Highlights for the contest again included the incredible pitching from Formby and Hammrick.

Jones went two-for-two with a pair of RBIs. Yates was also two-for-two, scoring twice. Brock Jordan got a hit in his only at-bat, while Jernigan scored twice and drove two in.

Brent Jordan and Formby both drove two in.

In the JV game, the Wolves dropped the Jays 5-2 in a game called after an inning because only half of the lights at Nevada were working.

HOPE 9

Hammrick ran his record to 3-0 on the year, going the distance against the Bobcats.

In seven innings, Hammrick tangled with 40 batters. He gave up nine runs on 10 hits and two walks, while fanning three.

The Wolves threatened in the bottom of the first, after Ingram doubled and Yates singled, but Prescott was unable to bring either man home.

Two 'Cats were hit by pitches in the top of the second, but Hammrick bore down and got out of the jam.

Prescott's offense came alive in the bottom of the frame with three runners completing the circuit.

Jernigan began with a single, moving to second when Collins reached on an error. Overton sacrificed the runners ahead, with Brent Jordan going down on strikes.

But, a wild pitch allowed Jernigan to score, while Collins went home on a single by Formby.

Jones then singled with Ingram following with a double to bring Formby across and make it 3-0. Johnston ended the attack by lining out to first.

The 'Cats tied the game with three in the top of the third. Turner singled, but Catt flied out. Stroud and Lee had back-to-back singles to bring Turner in.

Westfall belted a two-bagger to bring Stroud and Lee home. Bright reached on a fielder's choice and the tandem of Downs and Rowe were fanned.

Again, Prescott threatened in the bottom of the inning, but couldn't put the finishing touch on any scoring.

The 'Cats took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth as two errors and a single allowed Turner to score.

Hope pitching kept the Wolves on the short end of the 4-3 score in the bottom of the frame, even though runners were able to get in scoring position.

Inning five saw both teams come up empty, though the Wolves were again able to get runners on, but not in.

Hope's offense came alive with five runs in the top of the sixth to seemingly put the game out of reach.

Turner reached on an error and Catt again flied out. Stroud singled and Lee doubled to get Turner home. Westfall reached on the second Prescott error of the inning as Stroud scored.

Bright's single brought Lee in ahead of a walk by Downs. Rowe then singled Westfall and Bright in. Manzella reached on a fielder's choice, but Turner and Catt were retired.

Being behind hasn't set well with the Wolves all season long, and didn't against an old foe.

Prescott responded to Hope's five runs with a nine-run bottom of the sixth.

The base path looked like a revolving door as Wolf runners were going around in the square circle.

Jones and Ingram walked to get things started. Johnston doubled Jones in, while Yates smacked a single to bring Ingram home.

Jernigan's single allowed Johnston to complete the circle, while Collins was the first out of the inning.

Overton reached on an error, while Yates went on in. Brent Jordan walked and Formby drove Jernigan in with a single to keep the bases loaded.

Jones didn't like seeing the bags packed, so he cleared them and the fence with a grand slam to rock the 'Cats on their heels.

Ingram and Johnston walked to put runners at first and second, with a Yates single loading the bases once again. However, Jernigan and Collins ended the assault by striking out.

Three 'Cats went to the plate in the seventh and all three returned to the dugout empty handed.

Coach Steve Crow called Hammrick's performance on the hill a highlight after he has been hit in the pitching hand by a line drive in the top of the first. He still only walked two in the game.

Other highlights were Ingram's perfect three hits in three trips, Yates going three- for-five, Ingram getting three hits in four tries, while scoring twice, Formby being three-for- four with two RBIs and scoring two runs and Jones' four RBIs with one swing of the bat, along with scoring twice as well.

The Wolves posted a 3-1 win in the JV game as well.
