Reeves Going To Aid Camp With ButlerPublished Wednesday, April 8, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneChasity Reeves, a student at Nevada High School, will be attending a one day camp April 13; she will be accompanied by Naomi Butler, school counselor. The mission of the camp, hosted by the Arkansas Association of Student Aid Administrators, is to educate one junior from each school to serve as a financial aid mentor. Students and counselors will hear sessions on the process of going to college, what college scholarships are available, and applying for federal and state financial assistance. Reeves will be equipped with information and materials and be asked to design ways of educating their student body and parents about what they have learned. The Arkansas Association of Student Financial Aid Adminis-trators, made up of financial aid professionals all over the state, and through their early awareness committee hope for success from the camp with intentions of promoting early awareness about financial assistance for college. Fine regional workshops will be held in April. One student and one counselor from each high school in the state will be invited to participate.
