Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellow-ship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

Narcotics Anonymous now meets in Gurdon at the Presbyterian Church on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 353-6612.

Moms-In Touch prayer group for schools meets at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays at First Baptist Church. Call 887-6376 for additional information.

National Day of Prayer will be at the courthouse from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on May 7. Local pastors and leaders will be offering prayer. Entertainment will be local music. For more information, call Beth Ward at 887-6376.

There will be a general clean-up work day at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Highway 19, five miles north of Prescott on Saturday, April 18.

Everyone interested in the cemetery is encouraged to come help with the work. Those going should take hoes, rakes, shovels, mowers, Weedeater and wheelbarrows.

Cale School reunion has been set for Saturday, May 30, at the old Cale School grounds. This is for everyone who attended school at Cale along with family members and friends. A catering service will provide the food.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security Office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the Courthouse on Thursday, April 23, Thursday, May 28, and Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. till 12:00 noon.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213.

Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center will be hosting its grand opening ribbon cutting and the Chamber coffee on April 30 from 9:30 to 11:00. The center is located in the former Split Rail building. The ribbon cutting will take place at 10:00. Everyone is encouraged to come and see the fine work that is going on there.

The Prescott Kiwanis pancake breakfast will be Saturday, April 18, at 6:30 to 10 a.m. The breakfast will be held in the Prescott Elementary School cafetorium. It is $3 per person.

The 26th annual Malvern Arts and Crafts Show and Sale will be April 24 through 26, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. The show and sale will be at Hot Spring County Fairgrounds, just off I-30 at exit 98.

The annual Pleasant Ridge Church homecoming is April 26. There will be a cemetery business meeting at 10:30 a.m. Morning worship is at 1l a.m., Jerry Westmoreland, speaker. At 12 noon, a potluck meal will be served. Singing and fellowship will start in the afternoon.

Nevada School's regular school board meeting will be in the school library Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m.

The McNeil High School reunion will be held Saturday, April 25, beginning with registration at 1 p.m. in the McNeil High School.

Those who graduated in the 1940-1949 classes will be honored along with any who attended during these years. Campus tours, visitation, pictures of the graduating classes and an informal assembly will begin at 2 p.m. Any faculty member who taught during these years are invited to be special guest. Ryan and Wanda Neal of Blevins are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Carmen Paige Neal. She was born Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at 8:01a.m. She weighed 7 pounds and was 19 + inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Rickie and Ramona Brown of Blevins. Paternal grandparents are Robert and Cindy Neal of El Dorado and Bo and Sheila Hardin of San Leon, Texas. Maternal great grandparents are Jack and Wanda Clemons of Logansport, La., and Nadine Brown and the late J.C. Brown of Prescott. Paternal great grandparents are Joe and Thalia Curtis and Doris Laneheart of El Dorado.

Descendants of Benjamin Marion and Florence Martin Wicker are having a family get- together at the home of Jerry Don and Anita Joyce Wicker on Highway 200 between Morris and Cale Saturday, May 2. Martha Bullock Manning will celebrate her 90th birthday April 17.

Her daughter and grandchildren will honor her with a tea and open house at the home of Pat and Charlie Milam on April 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. All her family and friends are invited to come by to visit with her. No gifts please, just a visit.

The annual Ebenezer Cemetery work day will be Saturday, April 25. If you have questions, call Mary Hillery at 887-2979.

Grandpa's Place in Patmos on Highway 355, east of Patmos, will be having a gospel music and live entertainment Saturday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. The Hempstead County Melody Boys, Weldon Auld and special guest Greater Destiny will be there to entertain.

The Matthews-Goodman reunion will be held Saturday, April 18 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Cale Community Center.

Potluck lunch will be served at noon. All family and friends are invited.

The New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church will have its second annual building fund program Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m. Special guests will be Elder Donnell Malone and the Walkers Temple C.O.G.I.C. of Fordyce. Everyone is invited.

There will be a McRae School reunion meeting at the Ila Upchurch building on April 15 at 7:30 p.m.
