Oak GroveLula Q. KendrickPublished Wednesday, April 15, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune While he was on the cross you were on his mind. I think God for another Easter. I was not able to go to church Sunday after foot surgery. I fell over George's walker and almost put my eye out, and was lucky it didn't. L.Z. 'Zeke' Martin drove George to Little Rock for his appointment. I did a lot of walking. My foot really did hurt me. Zeke has been very good to us. You can depend on him and others for helping out. George can't hardly do anything. Mrs. Janet Smith is my driver. She is very nice. Mrs. Purifoy drives me sometimes. The members of Oak Grove served breakfast at the church Sunday morning. Sis. Ardell John- son called us and asked us did we want breakfast. It was very nice ham and eggs, bacon, sausage, jelly and orange juice. I did not feel like cooking. Mrs. Janet Smith went to California to her niece's funeral. I missed her from checking on us. Lewis Young's wife was buried at New Salem Cemetery Thursday. She lived in Prescott. Lazie Young Hubbard's funeral will be held Monday at Benton. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery. James Charles Young stopped by our house and left his class reunion dues for July 3 and 4. Its just around the corner. Laurice Tidwell Bruise has been visiting her children in Rockford, Ill., and St. Louis, Mo. Ira J. Tidwell is out of the hospital and doing fine. Artwelt Tidwell stopped by to see George. He is doing fine after losing his wife, Roxie. Alvin Tidwell and wife have moved over at Oak Grove. They bought the Jenkins estate. He told a friend he has been trying to come back home ever since he was 12 years old. He is a very smart man. He is a carpet layer. He does good work.
