Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, April 15, 1998 in the Gurdon Times Come and join the fun at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center Friday, April 17. We're throwing a party that you will want to be a part of the Eternally Young Prom (informal). There will be enter-tainment that is the best this country can give. Winnie Clark and Elizabeth Shepherd will both be singing with voices that make the $5 ticket price seen like a bargain. Refreshments will be served and the center will have a whole new look. Come and see the valuable riches hidden in the Gurdon Senior Adult Center April 17 at 7:00 p.m. All proceeds go to the meals for seniors program, project of the Area Agency on Aging. There will also be door prizes. Donations have been made from Bill's Dollar Store, Dillard's Superstop, Austin's Variety Store, Doug's Grocery, Plyler's Hardware, The Shoe Box, Thomerson's Drug, Balma's Beauty Shop and Woolf's Service Center. Thank you to all who donated gifts. The meals for seniors program tee-shirts and caps are on sale now at the center. A $10 donation is asked for either a shirt or cap, but you can get a shirt and cap for $15. Volunteers are needed for this program. Over 35 homes in Gurdon are serviced with meals for seniors. Clarence and Martha Haltom are delivering meals on Mondays and Tuesdays and Charlyne Wells is going on the lunch route with Nomi Brown. All volunteers are appreciated. We would like to thank some little fairy who donated three Easter baskets to the center. The winners of them were Ann Smith, Geneva Everitt and Art Cooper. The center is a United Way Agency.
