Historians Meet Sunday AfternoonPublished Wednesday, April 15, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesThe Clark County Historical Association will hold its spring meeting Sunday, April 19, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Arkadelphia. The afternoon's program will be "Arkansas the Land of opportunity for Researchers." During her presentation, Lynda Childers Suffridge of the Arkansas History Commission will tell about the repositories available in Arkansas and the types of records researchers could find to trace their families. Suffridge has been a part-time employee of the History Commission for eleven years. She holds B.S.E. and M.S.E. degrees and is vice president of the Arkansas Gene-alogical Society. An alumni of the National Institute of Genealogical Research at the National Archives and Samford University's Institute of Genealogical and Historical Research, she does extensive lecturing and teaching in many areas of genealogical research. The public is invited to attend to hear this informative presentation on family history research. Refreshments will be served following the program.
