Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will meet April 23 at Gurdon City Hall in conference room A from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. For more information, call 353-2514.

The 1998 Clark County 4-H Awards Banquet will be held Friday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gurdon High School Cafeteria. The 4-H'ers will be recognized for their 4-H record books as well as other activities throughout the year.

Spring cleaning at Rose Hill Cemetery in the Sycamore community will be April 25. In the event of rain it will be May 2. A picnic lunch will be provided.

Jay and Dee Dee Vittitow of Batesville announce the birth of their son, Anthony Joseph. He was born S Sunday, March 29, 1998, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Proud grandparents are Rickie and Susan Calley of Benton. Great grand-parents are Margaret Calley of Gurdon and L.E. and Lorene Swim of Hot Springs.

Senior Companions are being sought to assist the elderly. As a Senior Companion, you spend time with a homebound senior who needs a helping hand with day-to-day living tasks to stay independent.

A small stipend will be given the volunteer, but "the richest rewards are the smiles and companionship you'll share, and the satisfaction you'll feel," a release stated.

The board of directors of Central Arkansas Development Council will meet Thursday, April 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Clayton House Restaurant in Malvern.
