We wish to thank everyone who contributed in anyway to the eternally young prom at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center Friday evening, April 17, to Winnie Clark and Elizabeth Shepherd for their beautiful singing, to the staff and volunteers and to our site supervisor, Naomi Brown, and activity director, Rebecca Cooper, and Red Ball Oxygen for supplying the helium for the balloons.

The Head Start children had a thrill when the balloons were launched into the air. We also want to thank Forget Me Knot Florist and Billy's Florist for donating the balloons and to the merchants in Gurdon who donated door prizes.

A memorial has been given to the center in honor of Edith Schroder.

The ones with April birthdays are Edgar McKin, Cecil Kemp, Barbara Weems, Junior Thrasher, Tular Karr, Harvey McClelland, R.E. Graham, Henry Bell Jr., Nadine Logan, Martha Bearden, Sherry Glass, Martha Henderson, Kay Spradlin, Lula Mae Bailey, Virginia Hays and Naomi Brown.

Secretary of State Sharon Priest was at the center Tuesday, April 14. The center enjoyed her visit. This was her first trip to Gurdon.

The center is a United Way Agency.
