Trail Ride Is May 2Published Wednesday, April 22, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneBeta Sigma Phi Club members are calling for all residents to join the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital saddle up horse trail ride slated for May 2 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Hope Fair Park. In the saddle up trail ride, riders ask sponsors to make a donation. All riders turning in money will receive a ribbon. T-shirts, sport bags, sweat-shirts from St. Jude's Hospital will also be given out along with prizes donated by the community. The real prize, though is the pride everyone can take in giving children a chance to live a normal life. Live entertainment will be provided by Jerome Underwood. Those participating must bring their own horses and lawn chairs. St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis was founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas. It operates primarily from public support. Contact Laura Ball at 777-5844 for details. You can pick up sponsor forms at the Hope Chamber of Commerce or The Farm Store at 1400 E. Third St. in Hope. Negative coggins are required on all horses.
