Ballot Positions Are Drawn; Early Voting Set To Begin May 5BY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, April 22, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Early voting for the May 19, 1998, preferential party primary will begin two weeks prior to this date. As of Monday, May 4, voters who will be out of pocket on May 19 can cast their ballots early at the education office in the Nevada County Courthouse. Early voting will end May 18. The county's only official political rally will be held Friday, May 8, at the courthouse. Ballot positions were drawn Tuesday, April 7, at the courthouse. Locally, the candidates will stack up like this on the ballot: County Judge County Judge James Roy Brown; County Clerk County Clerk Julie Stockton; Circuit Clerk Circuit Clerk Carolyn Steed; County Treasurer County Treasurer Sydney DuCharme, Karen Cobb; County Assessor Judy Westmoreland, Pam Box; Sheriff Sheriff Steve Otwell, Harold Vines; Coroner Tommy Glass; Justice of the Peace: District 1 Gary Lewis; District 2 Willie Wilson; District 3 Justice of the Peace Danny Miller, Rudy Preston; District 4 Curtis Lee Johnson; District 5 John Henderson; District 6 Leo Holleman; District 7 Adron Hicks; District 8 Arval R.
