RosstonPublished Wednesday, April 29, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneMarguerite Williams Rosston Church has received its new song books, but the church still does not have labels in them yet, stating who gave them and who they are in memory of or honor of. LeVergne and Claudie White had the Caswells from Houston and a couple from Ohio this weekend visiting them. Our pastor's wife and baby went to Serepta, La., this morning to hear her dad preach and then they were all going to see Bruce Rodgers, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Please pray for this family. Jim and Mona Dixon still need our prayers as Mona is under care of a doctor in Shreveport. Sue Dixon has been taking them back and forth to the doctor. Bud Freeland had emergency surgery last Friday morning, but Bernice Dillard reports that he is some better today. Dub Crank remains in critical condition in Texarkana. These families need to be remembered in prayer. Guests in church Sunday were Matt and Pat Harwell and sons. We were happy to have them. Our son Dwight was our guest one day this week. He is doing some work on his property here with his new tractor. On Friday night, Jimmy and Booie Williams came and we picked up granddaughter Tori and Kathryne Rocole and had supper at the Ol' Feed House in Magnolia. Kathryne returned home with us as her mother had to work Saturday and Sunday. Booie and Kathryne had lunch with Roscoe and me Sunday after church and then Booie carried Kathryne back to Magnolia. We had a problem with our refrigerator in the camper and had to come home a day early from the lake. We got it fixed and are ready to go back Monday morning. A.B. and Maxine Luck are going to the lake a few days, too. We will be home on Wednesday, but have a trip planned to go to Ouachita Lake with Doug and Rhonda Morgan of Camden later. Misti Gibson is recuperating from surgery at St. Michael in Texarkana. Pray that she will soon be able to be home. Her parents, Wayne and Jane Gibson, have been at her bedside since she had surgery last Monday night, but Wayne went back to work Sunday night. The Honea reunion will be the first Saturday in June again this year. It will be at the same place as last year on Highway 82 East at Texarkana. Sunday, May 3, is homecoming at Whites Chapel Church. If you can't go, please pray for them. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
