Mary Cox tells me she had a nice visit by phone with her brother, Ivan, who lives in Round Rock, Texas. Congratulations to our friend and neighbor, Nancy Burke, who passed her funeral director's exam in Little Rock. I'm proud for you, but not anxious for you to practice on me. My Aunt Lou Ella Cobb from Hope visited Neil and me Sunday. Doug and Peggy Burley from Kingwood, Texas, have been visiting her mother, Thais McLelland. Shawn and Alison Crane are happy to announce the arrival of a baby girl named Ana Rose weighing in at 8 pounds and 6 ounces. The grandparents are Gary and Sharon Crane, and the great grandparents are Virgil and Mildred Burke and the late Clarence and Ida Crane. They live in Benton, where Shawn is minister of music at Spring Creek Baptist Church. Lauren Byrd spent Friday night with Katy Wilson. They attended the rodeo and went shopping in Texarkana on Saturday. Katy then spent Saturday night with Lauren. Belated 11th birthday wishes to Katy on April 10. She had a hamburger cookout with about 25 guests present. Faye Zumwalt has just returned from Amherst, Mass., where she was getting acquainted with her new great grandson, Lee, and his parents, Mance and Stephanie Harmon. She also visited three other great grandsons and their parents, Mannon and Keri Harmon, in Brownsmill, N.J. Willie and Julene Hulan and Sandy Loe attended the funeral for their daughter-in-law Linda's father, Mr. Varnell, in Little Rock on Friday.
