Club NewsPublished Wednesday, April 29, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneRose Garden Club The Rose Garden Club met in the home of Betty Turner on April 21 at 1:30 p.m. with Betty Wingfield as co-hostess. President Turner presided over the business meeting. She read a letter from the beautification committee of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce thanking the club for the two ginkgo trees which the group purchased to be planted in the downtown area. Melanie Rock with the Arkansas State Parks presented a most interesting program on birds. She showed slides giving perti-nent information on native birds, as well as migratory routes taken by different ones. The group enjoyed the program. Betty Wingfield brought a lovely bouquet of irises. The hostesses served a delicious dessert. The next meeting will be a brunch in the home of Nettie Lemons on May 19 at 9:30 a.m. Double 'C' EHC Double 'C' Extension Home-makers Club was called to order at 6:30 p.m. April 15 by Ruby Wicker. Margaret Barham read the minutes, which were approved. A fun day was discussed for May 2. The trip for the day will be to old Chidester house in Camden and some antique malls around Arkadelphia. For more information on fun day, call Carrie Candice at the Extension office or call Ruby Wicker. The program was turned over to the hostesses, Lucy Glass, Dorothy Apel and Rhetta Rhodes. The hostesses served 12 members. Everyone received a door prizes. Instead of having secret pals this year, club members who wanted to, brings a gift to exchange with whoever else brings a gift.
