There will be an auction May 2 at Gurdon City Park at 11:00 a.m. Proceeds will go to the Gurdon Bands. Hamburgers will be sold. The event is sponsored by Gurdon Rotary Club and Gurdon Band Boosters.

Kindergarten physicals will be given free of charge at Mercy Medical Center until July 31. Appointments may be made by calling 353-4001. All children entering kindergarten are required by Arkansas state law to have a physical before entering school.

The annual homecoming and business meeting for the Weir Cemetery Association will be Saturday, May 2. The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by pot- luck lunch at noon.

Annual women's day program will be held at Ronoake Baptist Church in the Greenville community Sunday, May 10, at 3:00 p.m. Guest speaker will be Sis. Betty Hawthorne Gulley, associate pastor at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Gurdon. All churches are welcome.

A 10-year class reunion is being planned. To attend, the price will be $30 a couple or $15 for single. You may make a deposit to the account Class of 1988 at Horizon Bank. Those planning to attend are urged to get their money in as soon as possible.

Bake sale, fish fry and rummage sale will be held Saturday, May 2, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 603 East Miller in Gurdon.

Arkansas Rehabilitations Services will be in Gurdon May 28 at the Municipal Building from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
