Everyone is welcome to come down to the center for the "Wellness After 60" program May 7 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. It will be a good morning of helpful screenings and information, not to mention refresh-ments free to all. People in their 40's and 50's can come and see if there's anything they should be doing to prevent many of the health problems that start affecting us when 60 comes closer.

The center will have a sale out on the front sidewalk on May 8 from 10:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The seniors will bring all their odds and ends here to be sold. The money will go to the center.

The Gurdon Senior Adult Center has interesting plans for celebrating National Senior Centers Week. Mayor Rick Smith has proclaimed May 10-16, as Senior Center Week in Gurdon. We thank him for this honor.

The week will be filled with many activities to enjoy.

Monday, the seniors are giving the opportunity to picnic at the Gurdon Lake. Their lunches will be carried out for them if they choose to go.

Tuesday, we have a couple of health films for information to help and the answers to a game similar to Jeopardy, that we will be playing Thursday.

The best time comes on Wed-nesday, when Dick Bledsoe, a gold- winning Senior Olympian, is planning to visit us and teach us how to walk aerobically. He will be at Gurdon Lake at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The Senior Olympics take anyone over 50. If you would like to know more about it, call 353-2095 and ask for Rebecca.

Finally, an open house is planned for Friday, May 15. The center is providing refreshments to those who come in to see what's been going on here. You could see someone you know.

We wish to thank Piggly Wiggly for the beautiful cake for the April birthdays.

Election day primaries will be held at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center Tuesday, May 19.

Tommy Hays was at the center on April 30 to practice with the square dancers who were to go to the Pineview Care Center on Tuesday, May 19.

All of these activities are for everyone to enjoy. We have been having good crowds, so come and enjoy with us.

The center is a United Way Agency.
