College NewsPublished Wednesday, May 6, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesAndrea Lynn Morrison of Beirne, a senior at Gurdon High School, has accepted a President's Scholarship to attend Arkansas State University in Jonesboro next fall. Her parents are Sandra Shurtleff of Beirne and Richard Morrison of Fox. The President's Scholarship is available to Arkansas High School seniors who score 26 through 29 on the American College Test (ACT). Recipients of the scholarship, who may pursue a bachelor's degree in one of 70 major fields at ASU, receive full tuition and a double-occupancy room in one of ASU's resident hall.
