Kirkham, Peters Exchange NuptialsPublished Wednesday, May 6, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneConnie Elizabeth Kirkham became the bride of Bradley Michael Peters in an afternoon wedding ceremony solominized at Central Baptist Church in Prescott. Rev. Tom Mitchell officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Kirkham of Prescott and the granddaughter of Mrs. Hazel Hendrix and Mr. and Mrs. Ishmael Thompson of Prescott. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Don Peters of Prescott and Ms. Rhonda Peters of Little Rock. He is the grandson of Mrs. Merel Clausen of Tyler, Texas, and Mrs. Betty Wade of Foreman. Pryor to the ceremony a selection of nuptial music was played. 'Wind Beneath My Wings' was presented by the vocalist, Mrs. Teresa Pyler. Mrs. Jan Whatley presented the wedding march. Vows were exchanged before an alter featuring a double bridal arch entertwined with English ivy and surrounded by four candelabras. The youngest attendants were seated in white wicker chairs flanked by white wicker urns filled with ferns. Family pews were marked with white satin bows centered with burgandy and hunter green satin bows. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride was lovely in a formal gown of white satin and lace. The dress featured a dropped waist, full skirt and a bustle bow that created the chapel length train. The sleeves were puffed from shoulder to elbow then tapered to a fitted sleeve at the wrist. The formal length veil of illusion and lace was secured to a tier of encrusted pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, accented with burgandy and hunter green satin streamers. In her shoe, the bride wore a lucky six pence that has been used by many brides in the family for the past 75 years. The matron of honor, Angela Hopkins, sister of the bride, wore a full length satin burgandy gown featuring an empire waist, fitted sleeves and a square neck line. She carried a single white rose. The bridesmaids, Maggie Hopkins, sister of the bride, Angela Jernigan, Allison Kisselburg and Angie Wren, wore matching dresses and carried identical roses. Allie and Missa Jones, cousins of the groom, were flower girls. They wore street length burgandy satin dresses. They carried white wicker baskets filled with rose petals. The ring bearers, Blake Hopkins, nephew of the bride, and Brendon, son of the groom, wore black tuxedos that matched the older male attendants. Marty Williams served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Laughard, Chad Jernigan, Virgle Kisselburg and James Dale Ledbetter. Toby Sheridan and Randall Grimes served as ushers and candlelighters. Ms. Terri Purtle attended the guest book. Reception: Following the ceremony a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. The bride's table was covered with a white cloth overlaid with a white lace tablecloth. The beautiful three-tiered cake was served by Brandi Goves, sister of the groom. The groom's table was also covered with a white tablecloth and overlaid with white lace. The chocolate groom's cake was served by Jennifer Kuhn.
