Lee Florence 'Rachel' Box

Mrs. Lee Florence 'Rachel' Box, 87, of Prescott died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehab in Prescott.

Mrs. Box was born September 17, 1910, at Bluff City to John and Octavia Purifoy Gulley. She was a housewife and mother and a member of St. John's Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Box, one son, Roosevelt Box, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include four sons, Shelton Box of Little Rock and Jessie Box, Rufus Box and Ray Box all of Prescott; three sisters, Brodi Ingram, Mae Dean Gulley and Gloria Dean Williams all of Rockford, Ill.; two brothers, Clifton Gulley and Jimmy Gulley both of Rockford, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Sunday, May 3, at St. John's Baptist Church in Bluff City with Rev. H. Box officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
