The Gurdon Chamber of Commerce coffee will be held Tuesday, May 19, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Ami Village Restaurant, located in the old Gurdon Hospital.

Kindergarten physicals will be given free of charge at Mercy Medical Center until July 31. Appointments may be made by calling 353-4001. All children entering kindergarten are required by Arkansas state law to have a physical before entering school.

A 10-year class reunion is being planned for June 6. The cost will be $30 a couple or $15 for an individ-ual. Those planning to attend are urged to get their money in as soon as possible.

Brian and Misty McCain are proud to announce the birth of a daughter, Kayla Renee McCain on Friday, April 24, 1998, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs.

She weighed seven pounds, seven ounces and 19 inches long.

Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Storey of Gurdon and Mr. and Mrs. Mark McCain of Prescott. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Thurman McClure of Gurdon, Lois and the late H.M. McCain of Prescott, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Cook of Arlington, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mitzmann of Arlington, Texas.

A gospel music concert will be held at First Church of God on Highway 67 in Gurdon Saturday, May 16, at 7:00 p.m. The featured group will be the Dodsons.

Shady Grove Baptist Church, two and one-half miles East of Curtis on Central Road, will have a home-coming May 17. Guest speaker will be Junior Thrasher. There will be special singing in the afternoon.

The descendants of Jesse and Mary Toland and Will and Nora Toland will meet for their annual reunion on May 17 at the White Oak Lake.

Potluck lunch at noon. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
