Sewing Contest Set

Clark County Farm Bureau's Women Committee (FBWC) and Clark County Cooperative Extension Service are sponsoring a 'sew with cotton' contest, which will be open to county residents as well as HSU and OBU full-time students who have a Clark County address.

There are three categories: youth, 14-19 years old; adult, 19 years and older; and special. In the special category, participants may be adults or youth who have made a garment or ensemble for someone else.

The garment or ensemble entered must be modeled by person for whom it was made at the county and state contests. Children too young to walk on their own may not model thus, no infant clothing may be entered.

Divisions in each category are: 1) cotton dress; 2) cotton suit; and 3)cotton sportswear/schoolwear.

The FBWC and Extension ser-vice encourages anyone interested in entering the contest and helping to promote Clark County, to pick up an application at the Extension office at 412 Clay St. in Arkadelphia.

The county contest will be Octo-ber 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the EHC kitchen at the Clark County Fair Ground.

Deadline to enter is 12:00 noon on October 16 at the Extension office.
