Frances FairchildPublished Wednesday, May 20, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneFrances Fairchild, 83, of Jacksonville, formerly of McGehee, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998. Mrs. Fairchild is the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Alexander McPherson of Conway and the wife of the late Sidney Fairchild of McGehee. She was a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College. She taught home economics with the Agriculture Extension Service serving in Cleveland and Desha Counties. She was also a member of McGehee First Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Roy Fairchild; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Copeland; sister-in-law, Lois McPherson; brother-in-law, Erwin Fairchild; and cousin, Velda Bearden. Funeral services were Friday, May 15, at McGehee First Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Raines officiating. Burial was in McGehee Cemetery under the arrangements of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home.
