Edith Lorraine Slatton

Edith Lorraine Slatton, 62, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Slatton was born October 7, 1935, in Katy, Texas, to Hans Lorenz and Virginia (Breedlove) Nielsen. She was a retired LVN. She had worked in several nursing homes and hospitals in the Houston, Texas, area. She retired in 1975 from the Four Seasons Nursing Home of Houston, Texas, where she had worked for 12 years. She moved to the Seneca/Neosho, Mo., area in 1993. She attended Hart Assembly of God Church near Seneca. She married Houston Slatton January 15, 1954, in Prescott.

Survivors include her husband, Houston Slatton; two sons, David and Glenn Slatton both of Neosho, Mo.; one daughter, Peggy Granger of Seneca, Mo.; one sister, Ann Gourley of Prescott; eight grandchildren; seven step grand-children; two great great grand-children; and two step great grand-children.

Funeral services were Wednesday, May 13, at the Hart Assembly of God Church with Bro. Roy Scribner officiating. Burial was in Osborne Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Home of Neosho. Pallbearers were Cody Slatton, Micheal Slatton, Shane Granger, Bobby Muckleroy, David Slatton, Glenn Slatton, Will Granger and Brian Baldridge.
