Mrs. Willie Hooks
Published Wednesday, May 20, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

The weather is getting hot and it is so dry. Hopefully, we will get rain soon.

We extend our sympathy to the family of Mrs. Mammie (Hall) Wells over her death. She has been in Hillcrest Care and Rehab for sometime, but died of a heart attack at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana Saturday night.

Paul Ghormley is still in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Hope he gets to come home soon.

Congratulations to Bobby Joe and Brenda Hicks of Emmet. They are the proud parent of a baby boy. Mae Blount is the great grandmother.

Willie and I enjoyed a visit Sunday afternoon from our sister-in-law, Annie Mae Hooks.

Georgia and Jackie Johnson returned home to Florida Sunday. Mildred Johnson is going to try staying by herself. Her son Dickie lives by her and he is just a phone call away from other relatives.

Bennie and Delight Blount and children had dinner Sunday with his mother, Mae Blount.

Danny Hooks is visiting his mother, Catherine Hooks, and brothers and sister, but will be leaving for Panama the last of the week.

I have been listening to several candidates and it sounds like we need them all.
