Chamber Sets June 6 Events

A fashion show and golf tournament head June's events from the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce.

The annual fashion show and luncheon will take place Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Prescott Country Club's clubhouse.

Tickets for this event will be $7.50 each and are available at the Chamber. Seating is limited to 50 people, so those planning to attend need to get their tickets early. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

The show will include a luncheon, while models will show what will be popular for the coming summer months.

Chad Cornelius will be the master of ceremonies.

However, clothing offered by the local retail merchants isn't the only thing to be modeled. According to Mary Godwin, Chamber director, hair styles and jewelry will also be modeled at the show.

Beth Ward will give a beauty consultation, as well as telling those on hand how to update their wardrobe with a new look.

Door prized will also be given away.

At 8 a.m., however, the men will be more interested in teeing off in the annual Chamber Summer Classic Golf Tournament.

Tee times for the tourney will be 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. The format is a two-man scramble, with the field limited to 54 teams.

Teams will be taken on a first come, first serve basis, and must pay a $60 entry fee.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each flight of the 18-hole tournament.

Godwin said refreshments will be available on the course for the players.

The tourney is open to golfers age 18 and up, while mulligans will be $15 per team.

Depending on the size of the field, first prize in each flight will be $225 gift certificate each, with the second place teams receiving a gift certificate for $150. The third place team will receive a certificate for $75.

The country club facilities will be open for the players and their families.
