A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, May 28, and Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213. Commodities will be issued on June 18 at the Senior Citizens Center in Prescott. Your card must be re-evaluated before commodities can be received. Whites Chapel Baptist Church between Willisville and Bodcaw is having its revival services May 25-29 at 7:30 each evening. Bro. Jimmy Sayers will be doing the preaching. The monthly chamber coffee will be hosted by The Partnership at 116 East Second South. This will also be a ribbon cutting and open house. The Partnership is composed of the Prescott/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce and the Prescott/Nevada County Economic Development Office. This event will take place Thursday, May 28, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend. A Cale School reunion will be held this weekend, Saturday, May 30, at the old Cale School grounds. Food will be served by a catering service. All former students, teachers, family members and friends are welcome. Alyssa, Joseph and Justin Hickey of Emmet announce the arrival of their new baby brother, Nicholas Nallon Hickey. Nicky was born on Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at 7:43 p.m. at Medical Park Hospital in Hope. He weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces. He measured 19+ inches long. His mom and dad are Bobby Joe and Brenda Hickey. His grandmothers are Carolyn Hill of Emmet and Bobbie Butcher of Dubberly, La. His great grandmothers are Lucille Wicker and Mae Blount of Prescott and Evelyn Berry of Corning. There will be an open house at the Willisville Post Office on Sunday, May 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. The Cooperative Extension Service and HeartWatch will sponsor a weight-reduction and exercise program for persons with hypertension, heart disease or diabetes. The program is called Moonliting and will begin Thursday, June 4, at 6 p.m. at New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church at 113 E. Elm. All interested persons are invited to attend. For more information, call 887-2818. The Emmet School board will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, June 1 in room 4 of the school. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. The agenda will include reports from the principals and the superin-tendent. The board will consider Title I and Title II projects and a special education program. It will also discuss personnel matters. The Levi-Lucy Parks family reunion will be held Saturday, June 20, in the community center at Fair Park in Hope.
