College NewsPublished Wednesday, May 27, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Rhoda Deon Thelwell graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro May 8 with a master of science in mathematics. In 1996, she earned her bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University with a major in mathematics and a minor in management of information systems. Thelwell begins her employment with Alltel Communications in Little Rock on June 1. She is married to Dwight Thelwell and is the daughter of Harding and Hyacinth Deon of Prescott. Amanda Clift, a graduate of Emmet High School, was awarded a Foundation Scholarship to Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. The scholarship has a four-year value of over $12,400. It includes resident tuition as a full-time and room in the university residence halls. Clift plans to major in business. She is the daughter of James and Rebecca Clift of Emmet. Aaron Ratcliff has been awarded a $500 scholarship from the Prescott FFA Alumni. Ratcliff will be attending Arkansas State University in Beebe, beginning this fall. He is the son of Jay and Gail Ratcliff. Jesna Cornelius and Clint Stockton have been selected as the Prescott FFA Alumni's Top Hand Award recipients. Both were presented a belt buckle. Cornelius and Stockton will be attending the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope this fall. Cornelius is the daughter of Jack and Jimmie Cornelius.
