She weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces at birth and measured 20+ in length. Anxiously awaiting your arrival also were your grandparents, Lonnie and Wanda Weatherford of Gurdon and Albert and Frances Jackson of Little Rock. Your great grand-parents are William H. Wright of Gurdon, anna Belle Jackson of Little Rock and Hershel and Irene Weatherford of Bonnerdale. Go-Devil Bash will be at Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs on June 26 and 27. Annual fish fry will be at the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon on Thursday, June 11, beginning from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Adults can eat for $6 and children 6-12 for $2.50. Children under 6 eat free. Take-outs welcome. Smithpeters reunion will be held June 7 at the home of William Smithpeters at 262 Dickerson Road near Okolona. There will be a family reunion for the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the late Albert and Nancy Smith on June 14 at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center on Main Street next to Piggly Wiggly. Bring a potluck lunch and enjoy the day. The family of Emma and William McDaniel will meet at lower dam pavilion Sunday, June 7. The Rutherford reunion will be held at the home of Johnie and Anna Rutherford, 199 Burtsell Road, Okolona. All friends and relatives invited. Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be at Gurdon Municipal Building June 11 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. For more information, you may call 353-2514. A 10-year class reunion is being planned for June 6. Those planning to attend are urged to get their money in as soon as possible. The Warren, Easley and Fretwell family reunion will be held all day June 13 at Gurdon City Park. Bring lawn chairs and potluck. Central Arkansas Development Council will distribute commodities at Gurdon Senior Adult Center, 410 East Main, on June 9 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. to those meeting certain guidelines. The Kenneth Hughes family reunion will be held Saturday, June 6, at the home of Perry and Shirley Williams in the Sycamore community. All Friends and family are invited to bring a dish and join the fun. Due to renovations at City hall the City Council meetings will be held at Gurdon Senior Adult Center on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. starting with the June 8 meeting. Meetings are open to the public. You are encouraged to attend. Due to the remodeling, Gurdon Municipal Court will be held June 3, today, at 9:30 a.m. at the Old Bell High School cafeteria, 810 S. 5th St. Sycamore Baptist Church will be traveling to the Holy Land June 13 for vacation Bible school. Departure is at 8:30 a.m. and will return at 5:00 p.m. Come join the adventure. Passports will be provided. Visitors to El Dorado can witness a historic re-enactment of the infamous Parnell-Tucker gunfight on the courthouse square in El Dorado each Saturday this summer. A cast of 12 actors recreate the events that led up to the gunfight that left three dead and many others wounded, including City Marshal Guy Tucker, great-grandfather of former Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker. This historic portrayal of life in El Dorado in the early 1900's includes live music prior to the re-enactment. Entertainment begins around 5 p.m. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
