Phillip 'Phil' ByersPublished Wednesday, June 3, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayunePhillip Andrew 'Phil' Byers, 42, of Hot Springs, formerly of Perrytown, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. Mr. Byers was born July 7, 1955, in Hope to Herbert C. Byers and Ann Stone Byers Thomas. He was a truck driver and a roofer. He was a member of Providence Memorial Baptist Church in Perrytown. He was preceded in death by one son, Zach Byers, his father, Herbert C. Byers, who died in 1993 and by his step-father Bryce Thomas, Jr. Survivors include his mother, Ann Thomas of Rosston; two brothers, David Byers of Nashville and Ralph Byers of Mineral Springs; two sisters, Virginia Paige of Shreveport, La., and Deborah Ann Langston of Rosston; and one step-sister, Peggy Joyce Herman of Minden, La. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 3, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D. D. Fairchild and Rev. Larry Byers officiating. Burial was in Shover Springs Cemetery in Hempstead County.
