Sybil Sue MitchellPublished Wednesday, June 3, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneSybil Sue Mitchell, 60, of Hope died Monday, May 25, 1998, in a Hope hospital. Mrs. Mitchell was born March 1, 1938, to Robert R. Johnson and Jewell Smith Johnson. She was employed by Heather Manor Nursing Home as a medical records clerk. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hope. Survivors include her husband, Hansel Mitchell of Hope; two sons, Richard Mitchell and Kelly Mitchell of Hope; two daughters, Diane Caples of Hope and Kim Yonts of El Dorado; one brother, Herman Johnson of Palm Bay, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Brian, Andrea, and Trent Hamilton all of Hope, Amber Smalley of Dallas, Texas, and Devin Yonts and Ashton Mitchell of Whitehouse, Tenn.; two great grandchildren, Jerod Smalley of Dallas, Texas, and Briana Hamilton of Hope. Funeral services were Friday, May 29, at Herndon funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Snell Cemetery in Emmet with Rev. Scott Neathery officiating.
