Tri-County Game HeldBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, June 3, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune A Tri-County All-Star game was held Thursday, May 21, at Sturgis Field in Arkadelphia. The North squad was represented by senior high school players from Bismarck, Centerpoint, Kirby, Malvern and Poyen. The South crew came from Arkadelphia, Delight, Gurdon, Magnet Cove and Prescott. Those representing Prescott included Al Formby, Heath Ingram, Ben Jones, Ricky Hamrick, Seth Collins and Brent Jordan. The Northsiders took the game 10-4 in the nine-inning contest. According to Prescott Coach Steve Crow, all of the players got their chances to hit and play defense. Brent Jordan, in the top of the third, playing catcher, threw out a runner attempting to steal third. Formby was on the hill for innings four, five and six. He tangled with 14 batters, gave up three hits, two runs and fanned six while allowing no walks. Collins, in the bottom of the ninth, reached on an error, and got an RBI.
