Emmet Students Honored At Recent Awards Ceremony (cont)Published Wednesday, June 10, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayuneberson; Spelling - Callie Dearinger, Ryan Roberson and Denesha Smith; Language - Callie Dearinger and Zach Hoover; Citi-zenship - Ryan Roberson; Reading - Zach Hoover and Ryan Roberson; Social Studies - Ryan Roberson; Reading - Zach Hoover and Ryan Roberson; and Art - Clancy Cleveland and Tommy Spencer. Sixth Grade: Reading - Brittany Daniel; Math - Brittany Daniel and Haley Muldrow; Spelling - Brittany Daniel; Language - Brittany Daniel, Amber Gulley; Science - Nicole McCoy and Brittany Daniel; Social Studies - Brittany Daniel and Shay Jones; and Health - Brittany Daniel. Kindergarten graduation was held in the Emmet School cafetorium Thursday, May 21. The Welcome was given by Floyd Polluck, elementary principal. The group repeated the United States and Arkansas Pledge, and sang 'It's Arkansas for Me,' 'This Land is Your Land,' 'Days of the Week,' 'Months of the Year,' and 'We all Live Together.' Diane Davis and Lorrie Quillin, kindergarten teachers, presented the students and diplomas were pre-sented to the following by Jack Faulkner, president Emmet School board: Richard Beck, Randy Berry, Halee Bright, Tyler Davis, Hanna Dougan, Lauren Dougan, Courtney Grant, Sean Gulley, Justin Hickey, Kristiana Jasper, Kelsey Jones, Cassey Lewis, Alex Marcum, Brittaney Martin, Rebekah Martin, Rodneshia McClellan, Trent Messer, Sarina Mills, Alexia Muldrow, Derekia Muldrow, Morgan Quillin, Rashion Reed, Jennifer Robbins, Tiffany Scott, Savannah Spell and Kylisia Welch. The benediction was given by Frank Henson, the high school principal. Eighth grade graduation was held Friday, May 22, in the cafetorium. Those receiving diplomas were Christi Lynn Adams, Cassandra Block, Danny Jason Casto, Ben Davis, William Jason Dearinger, Amber Lynn Dougan, Eugene Everett Hopson Jr., Kerry Wayne Love, Courtney Lynn Lively, Kelvin Devan McClellan, James Grant Kirkpatrick, Terry Lynn Parmer, Kayla Diane Schmitt, Keri Renee Schmitt, Kimberly Marie Westbrook and Bonnie Ashley White. Gulley Shows Magnetic Poetry Roshunda D. Gulley will participate in San Francisco's Intersection for the Arts exhibit, Magnetic Poetry. She is the daughter of Ella M. Gulley. Magnetic Poetry is an effort to raise literacy awareness with the aid of celebrity participants. Orginally magnetized word kits, showing upon refrigerators and file cabinets nationwide during National Poetry Month, Magnetic Poetry will erect 20 huge poetry walls in cities across the country (including Brooklyn, Chicago, Seattle and Santa Monica).
