Emmet Students Honored At Recent Awards Ceremony

Emmet High School held an awards assembly Wednesday, May 20, in the Ross Gymnasium.

In addition, the district awarded those in the elementary; and eighth grade graduation and kindergarten graduation was held during the week.

In the high school, Academic Achievement Awards were pre-sented to:

Seventh grade: Kristol Barham, Nathan Henson, Ashley Hodges, John Parmer, Susan Tipton and Holly Otwell.

Eighth grade: Christie Adams, Amber Dougan, Devan McClellan, Kayla Schmitt, Kerri Schmitt and Kim Westbrook.

Ninth grade: Katie Davidson, Jim Faulkner and Rose Martin.

Tenth grade: Gustavo Herrera, Chris LaRue and Tambra Tipton.

Twelfth grade: Chandra Banks, Amanda Clift and Richard Wicker.

Perfect attendance awards were presented to Eugene Hopson and John Parmer.

Model Citizen Awards were presented to Melissa Adams, Amanda Hodges and Nathan Henson.

Driver Education Awards were presented to Chad Adamson, Jason Arrington, Derek Britton, Rocky Clift, Regina Faulkner, Jennifer Fore, Kim Fore, Brandon Jensen, Chris LaRue, Jennifer Lively, Ashley Marlar, Lisa Martins, Josh Rothenberger, and Brandi White.

The WNBA Sportsmanship Award was presented to Amanda Hodges; NB Sportsmanship to Don Paul Mitchell; President's Educational Award (academic) to Chris LaRue, Rose Martin, Gustavo Herrer and John Parmer; the President's Outstanding Academic Improvement Award to Christie Adams and Tiffany Elliott; and Navy Honors Commendation to Lisa Hawthorne.

Receiving the Spanish II Award was Linda Stephens; Spanish I went to Tambra Tipton; Eighth Grade Social Studies to Devan McClellan; Civics to Amanda Hodges; Survey of Fine Arts, 10th, Tiffany Elliott; Applied Math I to Jill Harris and Dustin Sanders; Eighth Grade Math to Devan McClellan; Seventh Grade Math to John Parmer; Applied Math II to Lisa Martins Patterson and Chad Adamson; Algebra I to Katie Davidson and Jim Faulkner; Geom-etry to Lisa Hawthorne; Algebra II to Gustavo Herrera; P.T. II to Gustavo Herrera; P.T. II to Jim Faulkner; and Biology to Tambra Tipton and Jason Arrington.

Among the seniors getting awards were Amanda Clift, who received Physics, Street Law, World History, English IV and Computer Tech Awards; Tash Rothenberger received the COE Award and Drama Award; GCE Award went to Chary Key Jackson; and the Journalism Award went to Chandra Banks.

The Valedictorian Award was presented to Amanda Clift and the Salutatorian Award to Chandra Banks.

The following scholarship awards were presented to the following seniors: Amanda Clift- B.B. Hamilton Scholarship worth $750; Chandra Banks-B.B. Hamilton Scholarship, $750; Stephen Henson-VFW Post 8671, Prescott, $500; Richard Wicker-VFW Post 8671, Prescott, $500; Amanda Clift-Full Scholarship SAU; and Stephens Henson-Tuition Scholarship to UACCH.

The Elementary Awards Assembly was held Thursday, May 21, in the gym.

Those receiving Academic Achievement Awards were:

First grade: Chassidy Adcock, Blake Beard, Riley Cottingham, Tevarez Dixon, Crystal Esada, Jason Harris, Ashley Lambert, Brianna Otwell, Shalethia Reed, Brent Richardson and Shaun Smith.

Second grade: Jessica Allen, Chris Ball, Kamryan Bennett, Hannah Cleveland, Cassie Daniel, Randi Hoover, Corey Martin, Justin McKillion, Christina Parmer, Tyler Syata and Danielle Willis.

Third grade: Myrriah Chance, Janell Cook, Troy Elliott, Ashley Esada, Tobe Korenek, Dakota McVey, Lacie Owens and Amber Wiley.

Fourth grade: Steven Ball, Heather Berryman, Casey Burnside, Alyssa Hickey, Amanda Morris, Lauren Otwell and Jennifer Simmons.

Fifth grade: Josh Barham, Clancy Cleveland, Callie Dearinger, Ker-misha Glasgow, Corey Hardman, Zach Hoover, Bryant McClelland and Ryan Roberson.

Sixth grade: Brittany Daniel, Amber Gulley, Jeana Gutierrez, Jessica Jones, Shay Jones, Nicole McCoy, Haley Muldrow, Natasha Smith and Katie Tuberville.

Perfect Attendance Awards were presented to: kindergarten - Tiffany Scott; second grade - Corey Martin, Justin McKillion, Stacey Haney and Hannah Cleveland; third grade - Christopher Marcum, Kevin Hurt and Chaz Brzeski; fourth grade - Lance McCoy; fifth grade - Felicia Hopson and Clancy Cleveland; and sixth grade - Haley Muldrow.

Awards were given to element-ary outstanding students:

Kindergarten: Morgan Quillin, Savannah Spell, Kelsey Jones, Kristiana Jasper, Sean Gulley, Rodenshia McClellan, Justin Hickey, Derekia Muldrew, Trent Messer and Hanna Dougan, and Most Improved Students: Jennifer Robbins, Brittaney Martin and Cassey Lewis.

First grade: Most Improved - Deondra Martin, Brook Ivey and Catherine Langston, Reading Award - Te'varez Dixon and Ash-ley Lamber; Outstanding Student - Te'varez Dixon and Crystal Esada; Math Award - Riley Cottingham and Shaun Smith; and All-Around Student - Joseph Fortenberry and Brianna Otwell.

Second grade: Reading Award - Cassie Daniel; Math Award - Chris Ball; Most Improved - Joseph Hickey, Jennifer Miller and Michael Lambert; Outstanding - Randi Hoover, Kamryan Bennett and Jessica Allen; and Writing - Corey Martin.
