Cossey Appointed To Center's Board

Paula Cossey, counselor at Prescott High School, has appointed to the board of the South Arkansas Regional Health Center. The appointment was effective September 23.

The center is a private, not-for-profit community mental health center providing a full spectrum of professional mental health and substance abuse services to the residents of south Arkansas. The center tailors its services specifically to the residents of Union, Ouachita, Columbia, Dallas, Nevada and Calhoun Counties.

The center's staff consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, psychiatric nurses and other professional skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of personal problems using individual, family and group counseling.

Therapy is offered for a wide range of emotional problems, including stress, depression, anxiety, as well as family and marital difficulties. The center provides a comprehensive substance abuse program for adults and adolescents suffering from alcohol and drug abuse problems.

In-patient hospitalization and other specialized programs are provided for persons needing these more intensive forms of treatment.

Along with the central location in El Dorado, there are fully staffed offices in Camden and Magnolia and part-time offices in Hampton and Fordyce. These programs are geared to the needs of the individual and his or her specific problems.
