Wolves Play In All-Star Game

Six Prescott High School senior athletes participated in the first annual Tri-County All- Star baseball game held at Sturgis Field in Arkadelphia on Thursday, May 21.

Seth Collins, Al Formby, Ricky Hamrick, Heath Ingram, Ben Jones and Brent Jordan were invited to play and all saw action during the nine-inning game.

Dennis Pruitt served as assistant coach for the south squad during the evening. Boys representing Arkadelphia, Delight, Gurdon, Magnet Cove and Prescott made up the south squad. Boys from Bismarck, Center Point, Kirby, Malvern and Poyen made up the north squad.

The north squad came away with a 6 to 2 win.

Ten athletes from each of the squads were chosen as All-Stars of the All-Star teams.

This Tri-County team consisted of players from Clark, Nevada, and Hot Spring Counties. They met the Garland All-Star team at Lake Hamilton field near Hot Springs on Tuesday, May 25, and they came away with an 18 to 8 win.

Brent Jordan from Prescott was starting catcher for the Tri-County All-Star team and was the only player representing Nevada County at this game.
