Morman Is Valedictorian

Published Wednesday, June 10, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

Mimi Morman, 17-year-old daughter of Russell and Marilyn Morman, was named valedictorian for the 1998 graduating class of Tonganoxie, Kan., High School.

She is the granddaughter of Abb and Melva Morman of Prescott, and Don and Mary Parker of Hope.

Morman is a member of the National Honor Society, is on the principal's honor roll, a Governor's Honor Scholar and Kansas Honor Scholar, along with being a Tandy Technology Scholar, in the Kiwanis Top 15 and earned an educational excellence award.

She also received the Presidential Academic Fitness Award, was the Tonganoxie Runner of the Year, made the Leavenworth, Kan. newspaper's All Area First Team, earned a letter for cross country, track and the drill team.

Morman was also a finalist for homecoming queen and prom queen.

She has been chosen to represent Kansas City, Kan., in the Miss Kansas USA Pageant, to be held in the Wichita Century II Concert Hall Sept. 25-26.

Morman will attend Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall.
