Pineview's Future Discussed With Council (cont)BY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, June 10, 1998 in the Gurdon Times nicipal League, only 28 are selected for this award annually. Smith said the council needs to close out the 9-1-1 emergency services account as well as the annexation account. Money was set aside for both project, and both have been completed. The annexation issue failed, while the 9-1-1 funds were used to have new city maps made and signs installed at all streets. The remaining money will be placed in the city's general fund. A new radar gun has been purchased for about $1,800, Smith said, but hasn't been installed in a patrol car yet. This is because the car is in the shop at this time. It was also recommended members of the Gurdon Fire Department, Gurdon Police Department, Gurdon Street Department and the Gurdon Water and Sewer Department take hepatitis B shots. This is a series of three shots, each costing $90 each, Smith said. Shots for the GFD would cost $1,800, while it would run $630 for the GPD. Smith said the water department employees have taken these shots already. The hepatitis B shots are to prevent getting the disease through contact with contaminated materials. Smith will research the budget and see if the city has enough money for the shots and report back to the council at its July meeting. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
