Father's Day Events PlannedPublished Wednesday, June 17, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesDeGray Lake Resort State Park will host its annual Junior Fishing Fest Sunday, June 21, Father's Day. Registration will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the visitor's center. Fishing hours will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Prizes for the various categories will be awarded at 4:30 p.m. Contestants must be present to win. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will stock a small pond with catfish for the kids. Kids must be between the ages of five and 12 years old and must do the fishing themselves. Volunteers will be available to assist with baiting hooks and taking fish off hooks. Kids will need to bring their own equipment and bait. If more information is needed, contact DeGray Lake Resort State Park at 1-501-865-2801. DeGray is six miles north of Interstate 30, exit 78 from Caddo Valley.
