A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213.

Commodities will be issued on June 18 at the Senior Citizens Center in Prescott. Your card must be re-evaluated before commodities can be received.

Chris and Amy Jones of Birdtown are proud to announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, on May 27, 1998.

Her name is Alyssa Katelyn and she weighed four pounds and 15 ounces.

The senior citizen talent program will be Sunday, June 21, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Willisville.
