McCarty Wins English AwardPublished Wednesday, June 17, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe United States Achievement Academy announced that Mandy McCarty from Pine Bluff, has been named a United States National Award winner in English. McCarty, who attends Watson Chapel, was nominated for this award by an English teacher at her school. She will appear in the official yearbook of the academy, which is published nationally. McCarty is the daughter of Paul and Kim McCarty of Pine Bluff. Grandparents are Dot Parham of Pine Bluff and James Haynie of Prescott and Mr. and Mrs. B.P. McCarty of Pine Bluff.
