I made a mistake on the date of our pastor's appreciation. It will be the third Sunday instead of the second Sunday. It will be at Cana AME Church at Rosston. Rev. Emanuel Jenkins will bring the message and his choir will furnish the music.

Our Eastern Star meeting was held Saturday with following members present: Sis. Brenda Bay, Sis. Margie Haynie, Sis. Helen Haynie, Sis. Vera Purifoy, Sis. Joy Heard and Sis. Cora Gulley. Bro. De Willie Gulley was not able to attend. We missed him at the meeting.

Our Civic League meeting will be held Tuesday night. We need your help to keep it alive. If you are not already a member, come out and join. It is just $5 once a month and you will get a membership card.

We need Mr. and Mrs. Harris back in Rosston. He was a go getter and kept things going.

Fourth quarter conference of the Magnolia District was held at Ward Chapel AME Church Sunday, October 3, at 7 p.m. with host pastor Rev. Arthur Coulter. Rev. Thomas Adair is the presiding elder. The topic was Sub Four-face Christians. It was really good.

The annual choir day/usher day was held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Sunday, October 3. Rev. Bobby Young is the pastor. The guest minister was Rev. F. Dawn. Guest church was First Union Baptist Church. Rev. F. Dawn's text was Working in the Spirit. He really did love the story. It was really good. Choir president is Sis. Onita Young, Usher president is Sis. Annie Lowe. Mistress of Ceremony was Sis. Ardell Johnson. Financial reporter was Sis. Vera Purifoy.

Mrs. Purifoy is just back from Dallas, Texas, after visiting her sister, Velma Lupo, who will under go surgery soon. Let's pray for her and her husband. Vera has been sick herself. The Lord knows how much you can bear.

Dwaine Irby came by looking at the school. He said he would work on one of the committees.
