Summer is officially here and the weather is hot.

My brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Juanita Ridgell, of Cumby, Texas, brought KFC Saturday. My sisters, Elsie Elmore, Katie Pittman, Doris Ridgell and myself added some trimmings and we all had dinner together at our house. Others having dinner with us were Willie Hooks, Herbie Ridgell and friend Margo, Sue Austin and Mike Ridgell.

T.J. Glass left last week for Fort Benning, Ga., for eight weeks of basic training with the National Guard.

Martha and Rouch Allison of Hamburg came Thursday and picked up her mother, Elsie Elmore. They all attended the sale barn at Hope and had lunch together.

Dawn and Paul Rudd and two of Paul's neighbors spent Monday with Sue Austin and Katie Pittman. Bro. Danny Miller visited them Thursday.

Everett and Mary Orren, Dale Orren and Shorty Garner visited Chloe Orren during the week.

Bennie Blount and family, Sandra Almond and Mae Blount, attended the Mosley family reunion at White Oak Lake Sunday.

Willie and I enjoyed having Roy Gant Cagle, Harley and Mary Hillery and Bro. Danny Miller visit last week.

Roy Brown spent several days in Wadley Hospital in Texarkana. He got to come home Sunday. Their daughter, Johnny Joe Brown, of Houston, Texas, and her grandchildren, Johnny Joe and Walkyn Michell, spent the weekend with them. James Roy, Ryan and John Adam Brown and Roy and Jody Allen also visited with them.

Sammy and Kay House, Jason and Lauren of Little Rock spent Sunday with his parents, Lenord and Faye House.
