BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, June 24, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Last week's news I believe summer is here even though the calendar says it is a week away. Mrs. Nettie Ann Bowman is still in a Little Rock hospital. She has been put in a room. Sherry Lane of Greenwood spent the weekend with mom, Maudie Miller. Geraldine Campbell also joined them. Marguerite Dorman's family had a get-together on Sunday. I don't know if they all made it or not. Remember Marguerite is to have surgery on Tuesday at St. Michael Hospital. Our prayers are with you. Marie Tye has gone on a trip with her daughters, Linda Haynie and Jeanette Spencer. Mike, Jackie and Amy Allen of Lincoln spent the weekend with the J.D. Allens. They also attended a Fielding reunion at DeGray near Arkadelphia. Bret and Malissa Miller of Conway had lunch with Mamaw Maudie Miller. We were happy to have Chris Butler home on leave. He reports to Ft. Sill, Okla. Deck and Earlene Butler entertained Chris, David, Peggy, Cody, Phyllis, Todd and me on Sunday. Perna Mason has been in the hospital. When she was dismissed she went to her daughter's in Camden to recuperate. Ervin Fairchild of Prescott visited his cousin, Maudie Miller. We were happy to have Dr. Darren Hamm in church on Sunday. Edward Allen is back in the hospital, not doing very well. Remember all of our sick. This week's news Do you think summer is here? Is it hot enough for you? A few questions were asked why I didn't write last week. I did. I mailed it on Monday. I guess it wasn't delivered in time. We have been enjoying visiting with Chris Butler. He is home on leave from the army. He goes to Ft. Sill this week. Herman and Wanda McKelvy visited me one day last week. They are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary the 28th. A reception at the Bluff City Church of Christ will be held. Friends are invited. The reception is being given by their children, Richard, Ronnie and Jody. We had a one day Bible school on Saturday. There was good attendance and it was enjoyed by all. The program was on Sunday night. Alvin and Peggy Butler has just returned from a visit with Bud and Jaw Daniels in South Carolina. Mrs. Nettie Ann Bowman is home, but she is not doing very well. Remember her and others on our sick list. Andy Allen from Hot Springs spent a part of Wednesday visiting the J.D. Allens. Those attending were Chris, Chad and Brandie of Cabot, David, Peggy and Cody of Blevins, Phyllis from Little Rock, Chris, Jennifer and McKenzie Walton of Patmos and Todd and me. The fish was real good, as was all the trimmings. Marguerite Dorman had surgery on Tuesday and went home with daughter Mary for a few days. They say she is doing real good. I enjoyed a call this week from Fredrica Silvey Johns of Munich, Germany. She was thinking of home and this weekend was Father's Day as well as Thomas' birthday. She wanted flowers taken to the cemetery. She plans a visit this summer. Pat and Butch Wilbanks of Little Rock came to spend the day with his dad, J.D., and Marie Allen.
