Marguerite GavinPublished Wednesday, June 24, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesMarguerite Gavin, 79, of Pansy (Cleveland County) died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Gavin was born December 8, 1918, in the Randall community in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Pearl Norton Coats. She was a homemaker, a member for 61 years of Prosperity United Methodist Church at Pansy and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Ralph Gavin, two brothers, Chester Coats and Clifton Coats, and three sisters, Eunice Reese, Nell Hoover and Imogene Lymon. Survivors include her husband, RC Gavin of 61 years whom she married August 21, 1937; one son, Don Gavin of Woodlawn; one daughter, Betty Ragsdale of Prescott; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 17, at Prosperity United Methodist Church with Rev. Rusty Jones officiating. Burial was in Pansy Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.
