Gilda Bear

Funeral services for Gilda Bear, 43, of Angleton, Texas was held Thursday, June 18, 1998, at Palms Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Streeter officiating. Burial was in Mathis Cemetery in Mathis, Texas.

Mrs. Bear passed away June 16 at her residence in Angleton after a lengthy illness. She was born November 6, 1954, in Mathis, Texas, to Alton and Louise Miller. She graduated from Mathis High School in 1973, later attended Delmar College in Corpus Christi and graduated from the University of New York Regents College.

Mrs. Bear was a member of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas, a member of Lions International and a registered nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Dale Bear of Angleton, formerly of Gurdon; a daughter, Laura Dianne Taylor of Houston, Texas; two step-daughters,, Jan Elizabeth Bear and Emily Ann Bear both of Malvern; two granddaughters, Bridget Nichole Taylor of Houston and Sara Julia Taylor of Connecticut; two brothers, Stephen Andrew Miller of Rockport and Alton Vincent Miller of Houston; half-brother, Rodney Alton Miller of Mathis; and an aunt, Gilda Severino of Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
