Tara Hughes, Kimberly Robertson and Kelly Purifoy of Gurdon have each been awarded a Presidential Scholarship to Central Baptist College in Conway for the 1998 fall semester.

The scholarship provides three-quarters tuition plus $125 for room expense.

They all are 1998 graduates of Gurdon High School.

Hughes is the daughter of Terry and Vicki Hughes. She is a member of Red Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Her field of study will be computers.

Robertson is the daughter of Jack and Susan Robertson. She is a member of Beech Street Baptist Church. Her field of study will be dental-hygiene.

Purifoy is the daughter of Douglas and Nancy Purifoy. She is a member of First Baptist Church.

Amber Dawn Cole of Gurdon has been awarded a Dean's Scholarship to Central Baptist College for the fall semester. The scholarship provides two-third tuition.

Also a 1998 graduate of Gurdon High School, Cole is the daughter of Gib and Linda Cole of Blytheville. She is a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Blytheville, where her father is the pastor. Her field of study will be psychology.
